We would like to thank Brantley for taking the time to answer all of the questions. Brantley has very dedicated fans and we hope to hear more from him in the near future. If Sirus/XM is any indication of future radio play, I think Brantley is going to break out very soon. In the last two days I have heard, “Kick It In The Sticks”, “My Kind of Crazy” and “Country Must Be Country Wide” all on Sirus/XM. Thank you to all of the fans who sent in questions. We hope you enjoy Brantley’s answers.
OCR: Many people have commented on your “Outlaw” brand of music. Do you look at your music as “Outlaw” and if so why has it become a key element of your music?
BG: “The songs stand by themselves. I don’t think there is a stereotype or classification to the music; the band calls it “New Southern Rock.”
OCR: Your fans say that many of them enjoy your show at smaller venues rather than bigger ones. What types of venues do you prefer?
BG:”No preference, anywhere people will come to have a good time and hopefully sing along.”
OCR: What is your favorite venue?
BG: “It was the Georgia Theatre (before it burned down in 2009) close to home and a real good time with friends and family.”
OCR: You have a tough guy vibe to many of your songs. Fans want to know what are you afraid of, if anything?
BG: “Snakes, Sharks, Commitment ”
OCR: A fan who grew up in the same town as you wants to know if “What’s Left of a Small Town” came from the growth that has taken place in Jefferson, Georgia and how does that make you feel? BG: “Yes, I used to ride around town happy to be at home. Seeing how much it changed breaks my heart. It doesn’t quite look like home anymore.”
OCR: You have so much love (it seems from your music). Why don’t you have a steady girl to take care of you?
BG: “I’m waiting on her to come back.”
OCR: One fan writes that behind every great man is an even greater woman. Do you agree?
BG: “No, I think she is beside him.”
